I just heard on the news that Ugly Betty won Golden Globe awards. I just LOVE that show. One, because I used it in my final term paper last semester. Two, it just shows that, even though people might shun you for physical appearances, someone just might give you a shot. Gives me hope for when I am done school.
Okay, just wanted to share.

The show one for best comedy and the main actress America Ferera one for best actress in a comedy. I have to agree the show is just amazing!
I don't get it. I tried to watch it but it just annoys me. I can't stand the characters. I coudn't get past the second episode.
I was very very VERY upset it won, TWICE...
I used it in my class that was about Gender in Communication. How gender (male/female) affect how we do our jobs, how we live with one another, etc. Plus, because Betty isn't considered one of the "beautiful" people in the fashion magazine business, she stands out at Mode magazine (on the show).
Personally, I remember watching her on shows on Nikelodeon when she was younger.
Just like I started liking watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer because she was the original Kendal Hart on the soap opera All My Children. I enjoyed watching Buffy on the soap, I watched Buffy and got hooked. It's the same with Ugly Betty.
Okay, not the best reason, but it's MY reason.
